Here is a poet who has been publishing individual poems for many years in famous literary magazines, experimental zines and in anthologies.

Glenn has finally gathered some of his new work into Bird Scarer, a collection about the frightening world and how to deal with it, face to face, mano a mano, moment by moment.

Long known as a poet's poet, his book has garnered praise from such major poets as Martha Collins, Jim Daniels, Luis Alberto Urrea and Susan Azar Porterfield.  His cover image, TOP, has been designed especially just for him by noted scholar and photographer Dr. María de Guzmán.

Co-founder of New Sins Press, author of the literary study South Of Our Selves: 1950's Poets in Mexico, and an associate professor at the The University of Toledo, Glenn returns to his roots as a poet.  Originally from Salem MA, he won early praise for his poems and did many national readings.  Now Glenn is a Midwesterner who is writing of the many transitions in his life and in our nation.

Bird Scarer confirms that Glenn is needed by contemporary audiences for he offers us his honesty, craft and his unflinching look at our complex America and this world of interactions.  The poems are also funny. moving, political, sexy, irreverent and full of surprises.

Buy this book and see a new New England, a mysterious Chicago, an unfamiliar South America, and interior places where words act as stepping stones to adventures.  The book is now available directly from Červená Barva Press:  http://www.thelostbookshelf.com/cervenabooks.html.

                    from "Permanent Address":

                    Taking down the birdfeeder

                    at the end of spring

                    I think of Icarus

                    plunging into my brain

into the black sky inside me
